Disabled Access

Silk Industry Museum at Park Green

Due to the steep steps at the front of the Grade II listed building access to the site is through the Museum's garden to the right of the main entrance. A ramp links the first two galleries, however access to the third gallery is limited and assistance maybe required. A wheelchair lift is available to access the first floor and disabled toilets are situated on both levels.

The Silk Heritage Museum and Heritage Centre (including coffee shop, silk shop, function/meeting rooms, offices)

There is a ramp for wheelchair access in Roe Street. A (unisex) toilet for visitors with disabilities is on the ground floor and a lift provides access to the upper floors.
There is an induction loop in the Heritage Centre auditorium and in the Silk Museum.

Silk Heritage Museum

There is a stair lift to the museum but we regret that due to the inherent design limitations of the building, it has not been possible to provide access by elevator.
There are some steps inside the museum.

Paradise Mill

A lift provides access to the mill. Please ring bell inside entrance and a member of staff will assist you. Please note that the mill floor is somewhat uneven and this might present difficulties for some visitors.

West Park Museum

A ramp is provided for wheelchair access. All exhibitions are on the ground floor.
